Homemade Vanilla & Lime Whipped Cream

One thing I like to do to give my (usually store bought!) desserts some pizzaz is top them with some homemade whipped cream. It’s simple and it sounds much harder than it is. This will give you total bragging rights.

What you need:

An electric mixer

Heavy whipping cream

1 tablespoon of sugar

1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

1 teaspoon of lime juice

Zest of about 1 lime (zesting is just grating the skin off)

How to:

Add sugar…

Vanilla extract…and lime juice and zest to your heavy whipping cream. Use a cold metal bowl!

Begin mixing (about 7 minutes)…

You will get air bubbles that look like this…

but they will eventually begin to thicken and turn in to beautiful whipped cream!

You did it!

It’s that easy…

your instructions didn’t tell us to add the heavy whipping cream. i know you need heavy whipping cream to make whipped cream but as i was just reading the text… i was like, “wow, you can make whipped cream with just sugar, eggs and vanilla?!” haha.
